With over 30 years of experience spanning across industry and academia, Prof. (Dr.) Chinmoy Sarkar is an eminent academician from India primarily known for his life changing innovation around human development research. Dr. Sarkar's thought leadership capabilities are reflected by the fact that he holds the distinction of having authored a business model titled AXELL, and a step by step transformational tool for an organization to effectively utilize its resources, as a part of his Post Doctorate research at IIT Kharagpur. Two Senior Professors from IIT Kharagpur along with a scholar have carried out an extensive study for a period of one year for validation of AXELL. In his academic roles, Dr. Sarkar was also Dean at Lovely Professional University and was Head of the University Tram Project at the School of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Sarkar was also Senior Professor at the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), where his core focus areas were Industrial Engineering, Operations Management and Project Management. While at VIT, Dr. Sarkar was also the Convenor of "Mining Industry in the New Economy (MINE 2009), an International Conference on New Economy.  Prior to this, he was a full-time faculty at IIT Kharagpur, where his focus area was Production and Quality Management. Dr. Sarkar has also been a columnist writing on Surrogate HR for the "Business Manager" magazine.

Prior to venturing into academia, Dr. Sarkar has had an illustrious range of experience in the corporate world as well, having worked as a Deputy Director at the National Productivity Council, where his focus area was Industrial Engineering. Apart from this, he has also worked as a Business Consultant for the Global Consulting Practice division at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for over 14 years, as well as having held the post of Assistant Manager at the Steel Authority of India Ltd. Dr. Swapan Garain is a renowned Social Entrepreneur and honorary head to the Doctoral Committee at the National School of Leadership. A professor at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, primarily mentoring M.Phil and PhD students, Dr. Garain is a social work educator, trainer, social business mentor, and non-profit manager. LT. COL. (DR.) SAMIR RAWAT

With his experience as a combat veteran with the Indian Army, having commanded an Infantry Rifle Company at Siachen, Lt Col (R) Dr Samir Rawat brings with him over two decades of experience in training and human resource optimization in the Armed forces. His leadership skills have actually been proven under fire, for which he was conferred a President’s gallantry award for recapturing enemy held positions in Batalik sector during the Kargil war in 1999, in which he also sustained injuries in the line of duty.

After his retirement from the army, Dr. Rawat has swiftly assumed anew man tle and is now an expert Cognitive-Behavioral trainer who uses an eclectic approach in teaching soft skills related to leadership and personality development, behaviour modification and Counseling, besides conducting faculty development and training of trainers(TOT) for academic, civil services, military & corporate institutions. He is a psychologist and facilitator with extensive experience in strengthening intrapersonal and interpersonal skills development with individuals and among teams. Much of his research effort focuses on applying Positive Psychology principles to academic, military & corporate contexts. His research interests vary from Soldier performance in combat and other dangerous life threatening military environment to optimal leadership, stress management and building highly cohesive teams under equally challenging conditions.

Dr. Rawat plays a key role in crafting personal growth strategies as well as creating long term benefits for organizational development. He has been a visiting faculty /guest speaker to many academic, corporate & military training institutions and is a regular consultant to senior Army leadership on matters pertaining to stress optimization, Soldier and Leader performance, and psychological fitness. His efforts revolve around improving psychological fitness and well being of Soldiers and their Families. Based on principles of Positive Psychology, he focuses on building and enriching of human strengths, their assessment, and evidence-based methods of enhancing emotional, social, family, and spiritual fitness of. Dr. Rawat was the Psychologist to the Army shooting team that won more than 10 gold medals in the 2010 Commonwealth games. He is a guest speaker at well known international think tanks and military institutions; he speaks regularly to Senior Command Course at the Army War College on matters of personal and organizational resilience building in context of challenges to military leadership.

Dr. Rawat has written, published as well as presented psychology and military papers in National as well as International conferences in India and abroad. He has also contributed extensively to military and academic journals of repute as well as been cited in leading national newspapers. An expert in Venture Capital and Funding, with over 20 years of experience in the field of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, Dr. Harshawardhan Bal has held key positions in major international corporates, and brings to the table a rich experience of corporate operations and strategy in the field of life sciences and pharmaceuticals. Dr. Bal heads the Life Sciences / Healthcare Investment Banking Advisory and Consulting Practice at Stem Cell Capital, a mid-market focused transaction advisory and strategy consulting firm. Dr. Bal's experience in cross-border M&A, PE syndication, consulting, and alliance brokering in multiple locations including India and abroad results in his innate and comprehensive understanding of market dynamics. Dr. Bal has been instrumental in designing and executing business development and licensing campaigns, strategic sourcing in R&D, clinical trials, chemistry, manufacturing and formulation development, pharma assets and NCE portfolio valuation and management, and resource prioritization.

Dr. Bal started his career with Nicholas Piramal India Ltd, after which he moved into the role of a Research Scholar at the National Institute of Immunology. Thereafter, after serving as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Rochester, Dr. Bal became a Bioinformatics researcher at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. He has thereafter served in increasingly senior capacities with firms such as OSI Pharmaceuticals, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Booz Allen Hamilton, and BioImagene/Roche Ventana, among others. Dr. Bal has held the position of Principal Scientist at Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center in Boston. He has served in key positions such as VP & Head - Life Sciences Investment banking advisory, at MAPE Advisory Group, VP, Global Business Development - API Services, Piramal Pharma Solutions, at Piramal Healthcare Ltd., and Sr. VP - Corporate Development, Promed Group.

Dr. Bal is a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Jawaharlal Nehru Vishwavidyalaya, and holds an M.Pharm degree from Nagpur University. He is also a Post doctorate in Bioinformatics from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and a Post doctorate in Gene Therapy from University of Rochester Medical Center. With wide experience in corporate training and consulting with a range of industries, across levels and functions, Christine Patham is an expert trainer experienced in designing customised training interventions and facilitating for development of skill and effective behaviours to help organizations meet defined objectives. Addressed areas of Sales Effectiveness, Communication Skills, Customer orientation and Behaviour Management using classroom and outdoor adventure based training interventions. She has conducted personality development programmes using the experiential training modules with educational institutions & her personal interest is in specially challenged children. With her range of experience, Christine brings in a new level of understanding to the process of imparting education and training, and is an expert at leveraging on her learnings and exploration of the field of specialized training to provide a distinctive edge to the field of corporate training and education, with a specialised focus on experiential learning. MAJ. GEN. RAJ MEHTA

A highly experienced soldier and leader, Major General Raj Mehta, AVSM, VSM (Retd) was commissioned in 1969 from the Officers Training School. Gen. Mehta retired from the Indian Army in 2006, after years of service to the nation. Gen. Mehta has commanded both Armoured and Infantry units and formations. While in command of 1 Sector Rashtriya Rifles in Kashmir, Gen. Mehta sustained serious gunshot wounds during an encounter with Pakistani terrorists, but was allowed to continue in command at his request. The President of India has honoured him on two occasions for distinguished war-zone service. Gen. Mehta brings with him an innate understanding of leadership at the highest levels, and in efficiently managing and operating large organizations such as the army. This enables him to provide frontline insights into the workings of organizations and how they function.

Gen. Mehta has taught at the National Defence Academy and Defence Services Staff College. Outside of uniformed service, Gen. Mehta has been a motivational speaker, he has been teaching students across profession, gender and age. He focuses on Personality Development, Leadership, Maximising Ones Potential, Values and Ethics, Women’s Empowerment and Preservation of Environment/Ecology. He has been a lecturer with the Indian Management Association, and is an expert called upon for appearances on both national and regional television channels for his insights on defence programs.

Gen. Mehta holds Masters degrees in English and Defence Studies, and also holds an M.Phil in Strategic Studies from Madras University, as well as in National Security from the National Defence College. Gen. Mehta has written a book titled "Lost Victory" on the LTTE, which was published in 2010. He has also been an editor of books on Nuclear Non-proliferation, Ballistic Missiles and Terrorism Laws and also freelances for leading newspapers and magazines. He is currently working on a book on Punjab’s War Memorials.

 

PROF. (DR.) VRAJLAL K. SAPOVADIA

Dr. Sapovadia brings with him a plethora of experience in both academics as well as the sphere of business. Currently, Dr. Sapovadia is the director of the Shanti Business School, Ahmedabad. Prior to this, Dr. Sapovadia has served in various capacities across a range of leading educational institutes across India – including IIM, Indore; the B.K. School of Business management, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, and with the MBA wing of the National Institute Of Cooperative Management, Gandhinagar.

Amitabh Chandra is a retired Indian Administrative Services (IAS) Officer and a renowned Leadership Coach having started his venture, Chandra Catalyst in 2010. After earning a Masters in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, Amitabh Chandra ventured into academia as a Lecturer in Economics in Delhi. Since early in his endeavour, he has been mentored by the likes of Nobel laureate Dr. Amartya Sen, Dr. Jagdish Bhagwati , (Late) Dr. Sukhomoy Chakravarty and (Late) Dr K N Raj, amongst others.

After having been an academician, Amitabh Chandra joined the Indian Economic Service (IES), standing first in the all-India examination. In 1974, he joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). During his tenure in the IAS he occupied offices of differing nature and variety. Positions that he held during his tenure under the IAS include Collector & District Magistrate, Deputy Director-General of Shipping, Municipal Commissioner, Managing Director (of Public Sector Units), FDA Commissioner, Director-General of Yashada (apex training institute of the Government of Maharashtra) and Principal Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra.

While in the IAS, apart from attending numerous training programmes at the IIMs, ASCI, IPE and IIFT, Mr. Chandra earned his Masters in Financial Management from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, and a Diploma in Development Finance from the University of Birmingham (UK).

Amitabh Chandra superannuated from the IAS in 2008 and has since then mentored multiple organizations and students as a Leadership Coach.

 

MITHILESH CHUDGAR

A production engineer who was so influenced with sales that he started his career with direct sales and therafter went ahead to launch his Construction and Timesharing businesses. Mithilesh Chudgar brings with him diverse knowledge gained over a span of many years, and is known for his effortless method of delivering the most complex of topics. Mr. Chudgar is an expert in the field of brain training for betterment of life, and is known to come up with simple practical ways of implementing the Yogic Principles in life based on his understanding of how the brain creates reality.

As Managing Director of USK Hospitals and Medicare, a chain of Super Specialty Hospitals, Medical Education, Spa and Fitness Centres, and Psychological Counseling Centres, Dr. Kulkarni is an expert in establishing turnkey projects for hospitals, diagnostic centres, and has, as a Health Spa and Alternative System of Medicine Expert, developed institutions for holistic health treatment and alternative health expert training with a focused approach towards Health Tourism.

As an educationist, Dr. Kulkarni has been instrumental in developing international schools, management institutes, Information Technology institutes, Paramedical Colleges, Nursing schools, Pharmacy colleges, and rural vocational training centres, as well as many other similar efforts.
