GENERAL QUESTIONS

Why National School of Leadership?
National School of Leadership is the first Leadership School in India offering higher education in Leadership Sciences. All Leadership Mentors who design and facilitate your study are real life leaders – including CEOs of large reputed MNCs, Professors from top B-Schools across the world, Leadership Gurus and other eminent personalities. Supported by an intelligent technological backend, all our programmes are designed using efficient cognitive neuroscientific techniques that facilitate both unlearning and learning.

Why NSL Ph.D.?
Designed for senior executives, academicians and researchers, the National School of Leadership Ph.D. Programme is both flexible and challenging. This programme emphasizes on teamwork and cross-cultural collaboration, leadership and adaptability. With the help of a research guide, you go through an exciting journey of goal oriented research. Apart, your research is published and made available for the global community to benefit from.

Is it meant for me?
If you are the one who is looking forward to head an international corporation, take up an academic position, have a natural drive for research, or wish to take your education ahead, this programme is meant for you. This programme is meant for those who want to learn how to think, not what to think both inside and outside-the-box in any situation.

What is the duration of this course?
About 2 years , Maximum 5 years

What is the mode of learning?
NSL fellows conduct their research study through blended learning, a cognitive neuro-scientific technique that include a wide range of modes including coordinating frequently with research guides, virtual classrooms, leadership conferences, an exhaustive 5 day campus program at the NSL Campus apart from learning from each other where lecture is only part of the process of learning. At NSL, you’ll be pushed to watch movies, ask questions – lots of them – by mentors and your classmates. “Why do you think that is so?” “How does that affect a leadership decision?” “What makes a good leader?” “What are your alternatives?” Fearless and freewheeling debate will give you the confidence to excel in any situation, anywhere, with anyone.

Be prepared for all possibilities. Because there are no clear-cut answers, you'll gain a powerful framework for making decisions throughout your career, in any business situation, in any industry.

A curriculum you can use now, NSL mentors bring their real-world experience as consultants, expert witnesses, board members or even CEOs to the classroom. You'll learn how to assess risk, approach clients, think more strategically and make better decisions along a range of outcomes – the tools you need today and in the future.

Is this a distance learning programme?
No. The NSL Ph.D. is an external research based programme. Given NSL's emphasis on teamwork, it follows that study groups are an essential part of the Ph.D. experience. Many class projects are assigned to these cross-functional teams, rather than to individual Scholars.

I travel a lot. I stay busy most of the time. How do I take classes?
Almost all Scholars enrolled for the NSL Ph.D. are working professionals or academicians pursuing research along with work. Wherever you are, your NSL classes can be taken from anywhere at any time. So you can keep traveling on work or leisure and not miss classes. The total proceedings of class including the presentation, interaction etc are archived and available. So, if you have missed out a few classes, you can always catch up.
